Concept
Le Chêne is a cosmetics company established in 2013 in Kashiwa, Japan. Our cosmetics are developed and produced by Maple Bio Laboratories Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, “Maple Bio”). Maple Bio undertakes bacteriological examinations, and develops food and medical products. Years of experience in bacteriological examinations has helped Maple Bio develop a deeper understanding of bacterial control mechanisms, which in turn has enabled the company to achieve its long-standing goal of producing cosmetics without using preservatives. The name Le Chêne is the French term for “oak.” In Japanese, the corresponding term for oak is Kashiwa, which is also the name of the city in which the company is born.
